Are Making Community Impact With Donors
The venture, known as “Health Check”, offers low cost health testing at four locations throughout Monroe County during the months of April and May. Before leaving the site each individual has a private consulution with a register nurse to review test results and answer questions. The nurses are employees of the Monroe County Health Department.
The United Way of Monroe County and four major partners, Mercy Memorial Hospital, Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, Family Medical Center, and the Monroe County Health Department provide the services for United Way of Monroe County’s Health Check. The costs for this project are held to a minimum do to the partnerships and collaborations formed with the medical community. Initial funding for the project came from The United Way of Monroe County, while the partners do all the testing, lab work, and supply staffing and volunteers.
