Veterans Resource Navigators

MAUW's Veteran Outreach AmeriCorps Program seeks to connect Veterans and their families to benefits and resources to become more self-sufficient. AmeriCorps members within this program will increase community awareness by educating Veterans, Service Groups, Public and Private Organizations, as well as Colleges and Universities; along with assisting in developing a coordinated communications strategy for altering Veterans of changes in eligibility and identifying underserved areas in teh community where outreach efforts need to occur. Also, AmeriCorps members will be trained and education the VA claims and benefits process to served as the community Veteran customer service respresentatives. 


I am very happy and excited about my upcoming year of service. I am actively engaging and assisting the vets in my area. Each day it seems like I find more resources to navigate them to. I love my job and helping veterans. I already want do another year of service with AmeriCorps.
