The United Way of Northwest Michigan unveiled their brand new office space earlier this week! The new offices feature upgraded technology and an expanded-use community center. Ranae McCauley, Executive Director of United Way of Northwest Michigan, said,  "If we help our community we're doing what we need to at United Way....We have a facility that we can do that with". Congratulations!


Last month, the Greater Ottawa County United Way was recognized at the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness awards breakfast in Lansing. The Lakeshore Housing Alliance received two awards at the event - honoring their work to coordinate resources for people who need help finding a place to live, whether emergency shelter, transitional or long-term housing. The United Way of Monroe County, in partnership with Monroe/Lenawee County AFL-CIO Central Labor Council Community Services celebrated their 150th ramp built for Monroe residents since 1989 through Project Ramp. The ramps are part of a community-wide effort to create barrier-free living for Monroe residents. Project Ramp takes place over an average of three days with the help of a dozen volunteers from Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights Locals 687 and 1234, United Steelworkers Local 2511 and the Monroe County Youth Center.
