This year, while you fill out your 2011 state tax return forms, don’t forget to “check off” for the United Way Fund. Michigan residents will be able to use their state tax returns to easily donate to the United Way Fund, which was created to help low to moderate income Michigan families with basic needs like food, clothing and shelter. Donors will be able to indicate if they would like to donate all or part of their state tax returns on tax form 4642. All money donated will benefit needy families in the donor’s immediate area. The need in Michigan has never been greater and making a donation to help ease the burden so many are facing has never been easier! This year, be sure to “check off” for the United Way Fund!
