Learn how you can help increase resources to your community to improve access to care and improve health status through grant programs from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
Specialty Care Access for Underserved Patients in Michigan is a new program that will award $200,000 of competitive grant funding to increase access to specialty medical services for the poor and working poor patients served by safety net organizations.
Strengthening the Safety Net grants provide funds to improve access to care and population health. Safety net medical, dental, mental health, vision or specialty care clinics are encouraged to apply. This year Blue Cross is offering the opportunity to increase funding even further by providing a financial match from an external organization.
Building Healthy Communities fights childhood obesity by helping students learn to make healthier choices and be more physically active through the Elementary school program, Middle school program and Breakfast in the classroom grant (all grade levels). Blue Cross and its partners in BHC seek to disseminate the program widely and increase community support.
